4/11/1999	The DRDO has successfully flight tested AGNI-11 with a range of 2000 km, using solid propellant rocket motors in both stages and rail mobile launcher system from its new launch complex in the Orissa Coast. With this launch the country has reached the point of operationalisation of AGNI-11 as a weapon system. (1-1-2000).
4/1/1933	Indian Air Force was established at Drigh Road in Karachi (now in Pakistan). Subroto Mukherjee and four other officers were inducted as pilots when the first Indian Air Force Squadron was formed. The first aircraft flight joined the Indian Air Force, at that time it possessed a strength of six RAF-trained officers and 19 Havai Sepoys (literally, air soldiers); its aircraft inventory comprised four Westland Wapiti II. A army co-operation biplaned at Drigh Road as the ""A"" Flight nucleus of the planned No.1 (Army Co-operation) Squadron.
4/13/1889	Balkrishna A. Pillai, litterateur and journalist, was born.
8/18/1990	President R Venkataraman presented the colours to the Officers Training Academy in recognition of their services to the Nation.

3/27/1878	Nasiru'd-din Muhammad Shah I passed away. His son-in-law Ghiyasu'd-din Balban succeeded Nasiru'd-din Mahmud in Delhi.
