3/30/1665	Murarbaji died at Purandar fort during a battle with Dilerkhan.
8/19/1946	Cabinet Mission's plan announced an interim government, which was formed by reconstituting the Viceroy's Executive Council. The Muslim League took umbrage and started direct action. Riots broke out as Muslims attacked Hindu's in Calcutta and the rest of Bengal. The Viceroy persuaded the Muslim League to join the government. But the League declined to join the Constituent Assembly unless the demand for a seperate state of ""Pakistan"" was conceded.
8/22/1993	V P Singh leaves Delhi on a self-imposed exile vowing not to return until the government implemented job reservation for backward classes.
8/22/1993	Sikh Guru Har Govindji, the sixth sikh guru, was born. He fashioned a military role for the Sikhs.

7/4/1897	Alluri Seetaram Raju, freedom fighter, was born in a Kshatriya clan in Andhra Pradesh. He is rememberred as one of the great sons of India in the annals of Indian history who fought valiantly for his motherland in the early period of the freedom movement.
11/3/1984	Body of assassinated Indian PM Indira Gandhi cremated.
6/30/1999	India reiterates that any talks will resume only after Pakistan's unconditional withdrawal from Kargil. Meanwhile Indian Army continues to attack the Tiger Hill area and captures two positions in close proximity to Jubar features. The Election Commission says that Lok Sabha polls will be held as per schedule.
