Global event (live-streamed), September 12 - October 17, 2020 - Asha for Education (Asha), a 501(c)(3) global non-profit organization, is hosting its first-ever series of virtual concerts to help raise funds to support our projects in India during this critical time.

The virtual concert series comes as a part of Asha for Education's 'Work An Hour' campaign, an annual online fundraiser that highlights to donors worldwide the work being done to provide basic education to the underprivileged in India. Each year, people from around the world come together in a demonstration of great human spirit, to help educate underprivileged children in India. Work an Hour, or WAH (as it is popularly known), is a global, online fundraising campaign based on a simple concept: Donors are requested to symbolically "Work An Hour" towards the cause of children's education by donating an hour's worth or more of their salary.

With COVID-19 drastically impacting our projects across India, and forcing hundreds of thousands of students to turn to remote education during these times, Work an Hour 2020 will be highlighting projects that have been developing and implementing innovative solutions to deliver effective and impactful educational resources and instruction during the pandemic. These projects, run by grassroots nonprofits in India and supported by your donations, strive to bring change in the lives of thousands of children through education.

For this year's Work An Hour virtual concert series, we will be featuring several prominent South Asian musicians and a stand-up comedian who will each provide an hour-long performance to help raise funds for our cause. The musical events will be donation-based, the comedy event will have a ticketing fee, and all will be live-streamed to a global audience.

Each live-streamed event will take place at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 10:30pm IST on the following dates:

Usha Uthup & Jolly Mukherjee - September 26, 2020
Hamsa (Rohith Jayaraman & Layth Sidiq) - October 3, 2020
Amit Tandon - October 17, 2020
